Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy sessions are aimed at providing a diagnosis and treatment plan for a specific injury/condition (s). This can also include helping to improve strength and mobility globally or within a specific area of the body.

 

The first session will include a full initial assessment to understand the presenting injury/condition(s). Follow up sessions will focus more on treatment as well as re-assessment to monitor changes.

​Sports massage has a variety health benefits such as: reducing muscle tension and soreness, reducing scar tissue, increasing circulation and enhancing the healing of soft tissues. It is also important in the preparation and recovery of participating in sporting events, and is therefore used in the days before and/or after a sporting events/activity in order to help maximise your performance.

Deep tissue massage is key in helping to reduce tension, fatigue and stress levels as well as helping to increase circulation and enhance the immune system. It focuses more on applying a firmer pressure and slower pace in order to target more specific, deeper layers of muscle and fascia.

Assisted stretch

​Assisted stretch therapy is a guided stretching technique that involves a therapist moving your body through a series of targeted and controlled stretches whilst remaining relaxed. The assistance allows for deeper movements that can be held for longer compared to regular stretching by yourself.

 

This treatment has a range of benefits for sports and every day life including: increased flexibility, improved joint mobility, reduced muscle tension, improved posture and enhanced athletic recovery. 

 

 

Treatment will include:

-Passive stretching : where the therapist does the work for you.

-Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) : light muscle activation followed by deeper stretching.

 

Assisted stretching also be can be incorporated into sports massage sessions.
